What Now

So it's been a month since one of the most game changing moments in New Zealand history was being made. 60 young poeple with disabilties met in parliament to discuss hard-hitting issues on what prevents them from leading fulfilling and meaningful lives as functioning, contributive members of New Zealand society.

We have been hard at work here at YES, bringing together all your voices, comments, thoughts, concerns and suggestions, and packaging it all into a neat report that will be the multi-tool that we use to make change across the country for young people with disabilities. It's taken some time, I won't lie, but we are doing our very best to make sure your voices come through in all that we say and do, and that those voices are not only heard but help to lead change, to form legislation, to break down barriers, and to make my life, your lives, and the lives of young people with disabilities across New Zealand a little more sustainable and meaningful.

Stay tuned to this blog for more information and updates coming out of I.LEAD, and feel free to leave a comment, question or suggestion. This is just one of many places that will be available for us to connect and talk more about what we would like to see changed in our sector, our organizations, our homes, our schools, our hospitals, our lives.
